“Nice to meet you. I am your daughter.”
A feelgood movie about a man and an African girl, that claims to be his daughter
Just before his wedding a world-famous commercial director is confronted with an African Teenager, who claims to be his daughter. He has to travel back with her to the place where he once made a ‘Help Africa’ commercial to find out the truth. This Africa-trip turns out to be a series of big surprises…
Surprise won several audience awards of Filmfestivals. With Mosa Kaiser (“Hotel Rwanda”), Terry Pheto (“Catch a fire”), Kenneth Nkosi (“Tsotsi”) and Frank Lammers (“Blackbook”).
Frank is a perfectionist commercial director, who is about to get married with Xandra, heiress of a prominent family.
The week before the wedding he is guest of honour at an African gala, because it has been 15 years since he shot his heartbreaking ‘Help Malinda’ Africa-commercial, which became world-famous and gave him a worldwide career. He is surprised when he is confronted with a dark teenager, Sunny, who claims to be his daughter.
Frank immediately thinks it’s a con-trick, but the girl has apparently valid papers: If it is true, it will be a disaster for Frank’s upcoming wedding and his reputation. There is nothing else to do but to dispute it in the village where he once shot the ‘Help Malinda’ commercial. During the adventurous road trip a special bond is growing between Frank and the girl, that ends in the biggest surprise of the movie.
