A Suspense Thriller Based on a True Story!
A runaway teenage girl, a family reunited with a lost daughter, a death, a suicide and a dark secret are the elements that combine to make THE INTRUDER (De Indringer) a record breaking theatrical release!
Dr. Tom Vansant (Koen De Bouw) enjoys a good life, working in the local hospital and caring for his young daughter, Louise. That is, until the day he returns home and discovers that without warning, she has suddenly disappeared. From then on, he becomes obsessed with finding her.
When Tom meets a runaway girl that left home about the same time as Louise, his intuition tells him that this girl may have crossed paths with his daughter. She refuses to help him and won't even tell him her name. He reports her to the police and after searching through records of other runaway teenagers, they reunite her with the family that has been searching for 18 months for their daughter, Charlotte.
Tom follows Charlotte to a small, rural town in the Belgian Ardennes. He rents an old trailer and pretends that he's just separated from his wife and needs a place to get away for a while. Sensing that something is terribly wrong, Tom never mentions anything about his daughter or the fact that he's a doctor. Little by little, he discovers the dark secrets of the runaway girl and the people who surround her.
When the villagers learn his true identity, he becomes a target for murder. But Tom refuses to give up, risking his own life to save the life of another and learn the truth about his beloved daughter.
